ABOUT KP!

Karl Peterson is a photographer who lives and works in New York City.  Raised in North Carolina, He came to New York to study photography at NYU’s Tisch School of the arts in 1985, and never really left.  After receiving a BFA from NYU, he worked freelance for other photographers and himself for several years before finding full time employment in the department from which he graduated.  Peterson was the Technical Director of the Photography and Imaging Department at NYU from 1998 until 2018.  In his free time he continues to pursue his own photographic projects and design and build furniture.
